History:
- Founded in Reading, Pensylvania in 1941
- Original name was Reading Airchutes, Inc.
- Purpose was to make cargo parachutes for the U.S. Air force
- At the end of WWll, the company was reorganized into Jean Vernon, Inc. and sold lingerie.
- Since they were experts in that business, the company decided to launch a line of racing swimsuits made with a special blend of fabrics.
- The name Dolphin was used for this line.
- This set off an explosion in the swimsuit industry and Dolphin became more focused on swim wear.
- The Dolphin Uglies collection was released in 2005 and is still very popular (I have a few).
Products:
Dolphin produces many products for the swimming world including women's suits, men's suits, childrens suits, and accessories like caps, goggles, equipment, and clothing. Within these categories, they have many different collections and types of suits like racing, practice, and recreational suits.
This is a modern day Dolphin Uglies suit.

These are Dolphin Uglies from 2005. They haven't changed much, except for the new ones have the signature black and white stripes on the straps.
